BILD: Nadja Benaissa leaves No Angels

The HIV-positive singer is apparently parting ways with her band and has filed for personal bankruptcy.

According to the BILD newspaper, Nadja Benaissa is parting ways with the band and her management and has filed for personal bankruptcy

Nadja Benaissa has apparently drawn a line in the sand. As the BILD newspaper reported today, the singer is not only leaving No Angels with immediate effect, but is also parting ways with her manager Khalid Schröder. Until now, he has looked after both Benaissa and the other three Angels.

According to BILD, the move had been planned for some time and is said to have several reasons. Firstly, the relationship with the rest of the band is said to have cooled considerably since Benaissa went on sick leave seven weeks ago and cancelled all promotional and concert appearances as a result.

On the other hand, the former member of Europe's most successful girl group is probably not only in poor health, but also financially: according to BILD, Benaissa has filed for personal bankruptcy and handed over the management of her finances to a lawyer in Frankfurt.

In 2009, it became known that Nadja Benaissa was HIV-positive after the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office had her arrested before a performance and held her in custody for several days. She is accused of having unprotected sex with two men, even though she knew that she herself was HIV-positive. A "media hounding" (Benaissa's own words) was the result - also and above all in BILD.

The trial for grievous bodily harm will begin on 16 August in Darmstadt. The former colleagues from No Angels have also been summoned as witnesses.
