The No Angels Tour 2010 kicks off today in Munich without Nadja Benaissa. She was also absent from the band's performance on "ZDF Fernsehgarten" on Saturday.

The singer told the BILD newspaper yesterday, Sunday: "I'm really sad not to be able to be on the upcoming tour. I'm particularly sorry for my girls and the fans." She added: "Obviously the past difficult time has taken more strength than I thought. On medical advice, I have to take a break."

In April 2009, the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office publicised a charge of grievous bodily harm against Nadja Benaissa after she was arrested before a performance in a disco. She was accused of having unprotected sex with a man even though she knew that she was positive. The man is said to have become infected in the process. The singer was thus outed as HIV-positive - which led to fierce criticism of the public prosecutor's office.

The trial against Nadja Benaissa begins in August. If convicted, she faces a prison sentence of between six months and ten years.
