Column, Part 4: Full steam ahead

Now the GayGames really got going for me too. On Sunday, I had the dubious pleasure of attending a friend's tennis doubles match to cheer him on. No more "games of short distances"! Somewhere in the deepest residential area of Weiden, where even rabbits and hedgehogs are bored by the wolf, were the venues. But our 15-strong fan block was unlucky. The opponents from Indonesia didn't turn up (no wonder, they're probably still looking) and our favourites won without a single serve. I learnt three things: you don't shout "GOAL" when the ball goes into the net, watching tennis is actually as boring for me as I always thought it would be, and I should go to the sports that offer more meat. But the week has only just begun...

My first assignment as a volunteer was scheduled for Monday: laying parquet flooring for the dance tournament. What can I say about it? It was just as exciting as it sounds. Nice people - everything went well - the floor is in place - the tournament starts today. Done. The pool party afterwards in a Cologne bathhouse was undoubtedly worth mentioning. After all, as an exemplary Cologne resident, I like to fulfil my duty and ensure that our international visitors are looked after individually. After welcoming the Asian region the previous evening, this time it was my turn Down Under. Pure exoticism, and you don't even have to travel away for it. That's really great! And I was also able to forget my tennis trauma for a moment.

However, I found it irritating that a few of the well-built guys seemed to get more and more crazy as the evening progressed. Not the 'I'm in a great mood' kind of turned off, but more of a 'I'm off my arse' kind of turned on. This made her mood more aggressive and the chances of being able to shove my best piece up one or other of her bums in the steam sauna increased considerably. I'm not a particularly safe sex apostle, I'm more of a person who weighs up the risks individually. But I can't understand why people for whom it seems to be incredibly important to look attractive, fit and healthy place so little value on their sexual health. And yet condoms are available everywhere! Sometimes I wonder whether there isn't a large dose of self-hatred involved when you try to be obsessively beautiful on the one hand, but on the other hand do so much damage to yourself. Both with drugs and sex. Fortunately, these are probably isolated cases. I decided to leave and poured myself another glass of red wine at home. At least that's good for the circulation...

With this in mind: Cheers!
