When Sven*, 32, meets Steffen*, who is two years younger, he already knows that Steffen is HIV-positive. They have now been a couple for eight years and have been partnered for two years. Tom from Duisburg is only 53, but already retired. The reason: he contracted AIDS in 1994 and only just survived. Since the trained tax assistant has recovered, he has been involved with the AIDS organisation. Philip Eicker spoke to him about his voluntary work at Online Health Support (OHS), the health chat for gay men at Gayromeo.
Nico Woche (33) works as a freelance screenwriter. Since the end of 2010, he has been involved in the "Mobile Salon", a service offered by the gay counselling service in Berlin. Once a week, he visits Rainer* and keeps the 73-year-old company: the two of them have lunch together, go for a walk or just have a chat.
