HIV+ und nicht infektiös(?)! – Herzlich Willkommen im Jahr 2016
In May, ICH WEISS WAS ICH TU joined forces with role model Stefan to provide information on the topic of "protection through therapy". There were a few critical and even insulting comments on social media. We asked Stefan what the reasons for this strong rejection might be. Here is his personal conclusion:
Queere Geflüchtete – Selbstverständlich sagen können: „Ich bin schwul“
It's a rainy day as I ride my motorbike into the East Berlin district of Treptow. Commercial areas, railway tracks, old buildings and gloomy corner pubs. My destination: a visit to Germany's first home for LGBTI refugees. As I make my way past parked lorries and building sites, I look for the home and am more than surprised when I suddenly find myself standing in front of a bright new building. After a check by the security staff, I am greeted in a friendly manner by Stephan Jäkel.
„Drogenkonsum ist und bleibt eine Realität, der man sich stellen muss.“
Marcus Pfliegensdörfer has been working as a counsellor for drug users at Aidshilfe Köln since 2013. Because the sex factor is playing an increasingly important role, the 29-year-old also trained as a sex counsellor last year. On 11 May, Marcus will be offering chat counselling as part of the Breaking Meth project from 14:00-17:00.
„Ich weiß, es kann mir wieder passieren“
Nobody likes going to the dentist, even if it's "just" a routine check-up. After all, who knows what the doctor might discover, tartar or plague, and then there's an embarrassing reminder to brush your teeth better in future. Or, in the worst case, in the case of caries: "I'm afraid we'll have to drill".
„Das Gewissen ist nicht rational“. Schuldgefühle HIV-Positiver
If no viruses are detectable in the blood, an HIV-positive person cannot infect their sexual partner. Successful treatment is therefore considered just as reliable protection as a condom. Nevertheless, sex remains a source of guilt for some positive people, such as 29-year-old Vlad. Steffen* (46), on the other hand, feels liberated from an old shame. We interviewed both of them and summarised their answers.
